International Student Application

Step 1: Apply to the Master of Science in Marketing Research Program (The application can be saved and edited so additional documents can be uploaded. Program code is 6057)

Please attach these documents to your application form:

  1. Resume
  2. Academic Statement of Purpose: This section can be filled out in the online application or attached as a separate document. Please leave personal statement section blank
  3. Letter of Recommendation: You may upload letters of recommendation from a professional or academic reference if you choose. We ask you please submit at least one letter of recommendation with your application. The application system says that three is required but this is not the case, you may submit as many letters of recommendation as you like but we ask you to have at least one.
  4. Transcripts: You can attach unofficial transcripts initially, but please make sure you have the official transcripts sent directly from your university to MSU prior to the application deadline to be considered for admission (see “Step 2” for details).
  5. Affidavit of Support and Financial Proof: You can provide this form initially, or wait until you are notified you have been selected to participate before either uploading the form to your application or emailing it to msmr@broad.msu.edu.
  6. Pay Application Fee to be considered for admission

Step 2: Please request to have the following official items sent to MSU which must be received before the application deadline:

    1. Official Transcripts & Degree Verification:
      • International Applicants: Please have official transcripts and an attested degree copy (both in English and Original Language) sent directly from your university to MSU to have your application reviewed for admission. (Note: Some applicants are asking about recent changes to CDGDC not verifying degrees, we have not received any communication on this yet so please follow the information listed in the prior sentence. WES transcripts are not accepted.)
      • Documents can be mailed to: Michigan State University, Department of Marketing, 632 Bogue Street, East Lansing, MI 48824, Attn: Jessica Richards
    1. GMAT or GRE scores: Please have your official test scores sent to us, you can have them sent electronically: GMAT test center code: QH0-5P-00. GRE test center code:1465
      1. GMAT/GRE Waiver: If you attended MSU for undergrad (or a comparable U.S. University) and graduated with a 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA you can qualify for a GMAT/GRE waiver. You can email msmr@broad.msu.edu and attach your resume and transcripts regarding test waiver questions.
    2. English language proficiency test scores: We accept TOEFL & IELTS.
      1. TOEFL/IELTS Waiver: If you attended MSU or a U.S. based university for your bachelors or masters degree (s) you may qualify for an automatic English Language Proficiency waiver, please email msmr@broad.msu.edu if you have questions.
        1. Sending TOEFL/IELTS Scores: TOEFL scores may be sent to MSU electronically with code 1465. IELTS scores can only be received hard copy, MSU Admissions does not accept electronic IELTS scores so please make sure you have hard copies sent.
